This issue would add improvements so that a colorscheme preset with light and dark mode options can be scheduled and work more interactively. Suggested options:

  1. Simply manually selectable colorscheme preset for which one for light and which one for dark mode. This would be the simple implementation where the user manually selects which presets the user wants for each mode.
  2. More interactive selection. If user selects rosepine, then it should default main or moon for dark mode and dawn for light mode without user input.
  3. Both of the above, where the default is interactive, but gives the user the option to change which light or dark scheme user would like.

@zach would like your opinion on this what you would prefer.

First for sure IMO. I believe anything "automatic" like that should be with direct consent from the user.

We can have visual feedback when the user hasn't selected a light mode preset, such as keeping the "Scheme mode" option in settings greyed out, and then have it enable when the user selects a light mode scheme. Maybe even add some text underneath the "Scheme mode" title text when a light preset isn't selected, informing the user must select one before they can change the scheme mode.
